happy 50th birthday, malaysia!

dinner

went for a dinner with my family yesterday at the famous seafood shop nearby sibu bus terminal. the shop is famous for its signature dishes - roasted pork rib and crab. however, we ordered the pork rib only as the we were too lazy to crack the crab's tough shell to reach the meat inside.

we only had to wait for about 10 minutes for the dishes to be served.

all costs rm63 including drinks and 4 bowls of rice. pretty cheap. the pork rib is excellent. just dip your portion in the sause which accompanied the dish, it would simply taste heavenly. would strongly recommend it to anyone.

in sibu

i finally reached sibu at 8pm yesterday via airasia. i checked in through the web, reached lcct at 5.15pm for my 6.15pm flight. checking in the web is so convenient. you don't have to rush to beat the time or line up like lining up to have a turn in the w.c. anyway, while in the waiting hall, listening to the foochow dialect around me made me feel so much at home. ahaha..

sibu is sibu. there is no other place like sibu. and boy, am i glad to be here now.

he isn't mine

he doesn't like me. he planned to move to england to work there. he never intended to come back malaysia to be with me. he told me he would return to malaysia but now it seemed that he has changed his mind. he asked me to go to england too but did he ask me to go along with him? i don't think so. he just treated me as one of his ordinary friends. i thought i was special to him but it turned out not. we shared many memories together. i have known him for about 12 years now. he was my best male friend. although i don't believe two people of different sex can remain good friends, it seemed we are the living proof. i would really like for us to be more than just friends but i think he prefers us to be just like now. i've never asked what his feelings for me really are. the last time i saw him was about 7 years. till then we lost contact until recently. maybe he thought i was still the ugly duckling he used to hang out. but did he really see the new me now. of course, i don't want to be liked solely on my outer looks. but i thought the combination would win him over.

on the other hand, do i really like him? i am close to 30 now and everyone has been asking when is my turn to walk down the aisle? my friends got married one by one and these have really pushed me into thinking hard about getting hitched. but how do i go about that when i don't even have that special someone. maybe i am desperate and that's why i really want him to come back to malaysia.

i hope he will change his plan. but that is impossible because he told me he is saving hard now. and of course he is serious. as for me, i have planned that if my life has not changed when i hit 30, i would think seriously of changing my path of life. i would return back to study and besides that finding the other half of me. wish me luck!!

smart tunnel

after months of anticipation, finally the long awaited smart tunnel is opened to the public. the tunnel has free access for one month after which toll will be imposed. the toll according to our works minister "will be quite high" due to its dual function as roads and water tunnel if there is flash floods in kl. there are two lanes in the tunnel. along the way, i saw small exits and emergency phones. there were cctvs too. i exit at sultan ismail and came out somewhere near sg wang (parkroyal hotel side). i must say it is a smooth drive. you don't need to take many turnings to reach your destination or go through the traffic lights. but of course if there are many cars using the same route, the journey will be quite slow as there are only two lanes. i will continue using the tunnel as long as it is free. i don't think i am willing to pay to use the tunnel as long as there is no emergency or i am not in a hurry.

SYTYCD top 16

was in ruums again last nite. actually was there every thursday nite for the past 3 weeks. love the atmosphere, the excitement.. seriously, being on a live show compares nothing to watching it on the idiot box. the fly fm team was there to distribute free gifts - t-shirts, caps, notebooks, backstage passes.. got nothing.. arghhhhh!!! they kept throwing it at the same spot and i know two person got more than 1 gifts. that is so unfair!!

was absolutely feeling a bit piss off last night. not because of the fly fm team. just that, it's what i felt. don't know why. life is bad. :(

so you think you can dance malaysia

i was on tv!! though i didn't see it myself. last thursday, i went to watch the first ever malaysian reality dancing competition 'so you think you can dance' held at the ruums club in kl. there was a big crowd - people on the guest list like myself, family members, friends, celebrities and other guests. supposed to be there by 8pm but the traffic stops me. but it didn't matter coz the show didn't start until 9.30pm! i saw the cool yannus, one the judges for the preliminary rounds. he was really cool. also aishah sinclair, paul moss and rina omar. aishah was truly gorgeous! and rina was really petite! the judges for the show were ramli ibrahim - famed for his exotic indian dance, pat who choreographed for puteri gunung ledang and whats-her-name who was in akademi fantasia show according to my buddy.

then the host juliana ibrahim got on the stage to start the show. and so it starts with a bang!! contestants went on stage to perform together. in the competition, the contestants will have to dance in pairs and then the judges will choose the bottom four. the unlucky four will have to dance again to gain sms votes from the audience and tv viewers. failure to get more votes than the others will result in two of them being booted out from the competition. among the contestants, sean was really good looking, joaane was really good and suhaili was a looker! in the end the unlucky four were shake, azie, vish and alice. sadly, shake and azie didn't get enough votes to remain in the competition.

what an experience. my first ever live tv show. i can't wait to go again this coming thursday!
