the yellow object in dire need of a facial

the moon was neither crescent, half or three quarter last night. it was as round as a ball. guess the sea level is pretty high.

have you ever wondered what could be up there? well, neil armstrong has been there and since then, many have made their 'one small step, one giant leap for mankind' adventure there. no one reported they have encountered anything unusual e.g. alien on the moon. or did the government prevent them from telling? we will never really know.

to be or not to be (a maid)

time for that time of the year again! mum is coming soon to visit and my place must be spotless (well, almost) in accordance to her standard. else, my ears will get sore with her blabbing.

this is the top of the idiot box which i didn't touch, what more clean, since her last visit. notice the BIG difference of the part which i have not cleaned with the part that i have.

nevertheless, i look forward to her visit and the places i plan to bring her. oh, she's coming with my 4 year old nephew. with him around, my place will no longer be a sanctuary. ahhh, he has mentioned that he wants to go to cosmo world theme park in times square again. i brought him there the previous year.

result - clash of times: roger federer vs pete sampras

as expected, federer won the match 6-7 (6-8), 6-7 (5-7) but not without great effort and smart play.

here is a snap of federer and sampras posing with their prizes.

quoted from bernama.com

SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Pete Sampras showed Malaysian tennis fans why he was the former World number one and the most celebrated player in tennis history when he stretched current World number one Roger Federer to the limit in the `Clash of Times' before losing 6-7 (6-8), 6-7 (5-7) at the Malawati Stadium, here tonight.

Though Sampras lost the thrilling and pulsating encounter, the former World number one walked out with his head held high and a winner in the hearts of his ardent fans who backed him all the way throughout the match, cheering every winning shot he managed past his opponent who is 10 years younger and who a week ago clinched his fourth Masters title in Shanghai.

"It was a great match, Pete Sampras played some excellent tennis and the Malaysian fans were simply fantastic," said Federer before receiving his winning prize from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.

Sampras, 36, winner of 14 Grand Slams in his career and who stayed as the world number one for six consecutive years from 1993 to 1998, had lost 4-6, 2-6 in their first exhibition match in Seoul two days ago but he put up a vintage performance today and gave Federer a run for his money.

Nothing separated the duo in the first set which went into a tie-break that was eventually won by Federer 8-6 and the second set was no different as both players had to battle it out in yet another tie-break with Federer again emerging winner with a 7-5 score.

About 10,000 fans packed the Malawati Stadium for the event held as part of the Malaysian Independence Tennis Festival with the others being the `Clash of Titans' between World number two Rafael Nadal and Richard Gasquet, which was won by Nadal on Tuesday and the ongoing ATP Malaysian Open Challenger Series.

Meanwhile, Federer, 26, winner of 12 Grand Slams already and who is expected to equal, if not surpass Sampras' record, was simply in his element today and was always in command of the exchanges although the scores look very formidable in favour of Sampras.

The duo will next leave for their third exhibition match in Macau next week.

clash of titans : rafael nadal vs richard gasquet

yesterday i watched part of the game between rafael nadal and richard gasquet in melawati stadium, shah alam aired over ntv7 around 8.20pm. of course the game did not start at 8.20, the show started first with interviews and profiles on the players. i was a bit excited about this since this is the first game played in malaysia by top-ranked world tennis players (no.2 for nadal, as for gasquet i'm not sure). not to mention the coming game between world no.1 roger federer and former no.1 pete sampras this thursday!

the game started not too promising for nadal and he lost in the first game. gasquet was looking for chances to overcome his rival.

so who is the winner?

nadal?

or gasquet?

my bet is on nadal in view of this superb skill and not to mention his good look and well toned body!! pardon me for being a star-strucked-teenager-like!

and the result is rafael nadal won 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 against gasquet!

yeaahhhhhiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!

snow queen - noon-eui yeo-wang

this has got to be one of the best korean dramas i ever watched. i've never felt so sad after watching since autumn in my heart. the sad ending made me depressed for a few days. korean dramas are different in that they touched your deepest emotion. i love one of the songs featured in the drama 'meari (echo)' by loveholic. it has such a haunting voice. i even managed to memorize the lyrics during the weekend.

Me-ari Lyrics – Love Theme (Snow Queen OST)
Singer: Loveholic / Romanization by Kreah

hwang hee

if you ever watched 'over the rainbow', a korean drama aired over 8tv not long ago, then you would know the second lead actor, hwanghee. he acted as a singer frustrated with the record company he's with. in real life, he's one half of a korean duo.

i encountered these pictures of him before and after surgery. korean actresses are famous for their beautiful looks which are always enhanced by surgery but now i know, korean actors are not excluded. hwanghee is one good example.

seems like he's totally a different person, don't you think so.

are double eyelids and sharp nose really that important?

and the goodies are...

went to the gardens last saturday to get the goodie bag given away by the women's weekly malaysia at the robinsons. i went at 8.50am but arrived at 9.50am for a journey that should take only 20 minutes. you know why, there was a massive jam at sungai besi - seremban highway. i thought there was an accident and being typical malaysians, people couldn't help but look as they drove their damn cars like snails. or maybe people were travelling back to kl after the deepavali holiday but i was wrong, there was a police block at the end. one cop scanning a piece of paper while looking at the passing cars. maybe they were looking for the baddie(s) because they weren't checking my road tax or driving license! couldn't complain much, they were just doing their duty. after the block, the traffic was as smooth as a baby's back.
note: later from the 8pm news, got to know the road block was one of the measures taken by the police to prevent some listed protestors from attending the 'bersih rally' at dataran merdeka. the road block was one of the many road blocks conducted at major roads entering kl. wow, that was one of the pros of living in the capital city. you get to involve, directly or indirectly, in some of events that will or will not shape the country's future.

when i arrived at the robinsons ground floor, there was a long queue. luckily i was within 200s so i managed to get a goodie bag! there were 1000 bags to be given away though.

this is the women's weekly bag.

these are the goodies... sorry the picture was a bit blur. the goodies are worth over rm300 as stated in the mag.

a list of the goodies:-
1. O.P.I. RM10 voucher for Manicure and Pedicure Services exclude OPI Express and RM30 for Fabulous Package only. (now i for once seldom had my nails painted, what else having my nails manicured and pedicured??!)

2. RM300 London Weight Management voucher. (although in my opinion, i look fat, i think i am not that overweight to be entitled to this voucher)

3. Beaubelle RM50 voucher for core treatment (hmmm... this sounds interesting, but the prices for the core treatments as given are expensive!! in the end, i think i have to fork out more money from my already exhausting bank account)

4. a piece of paper entitled me to Airellis complimentary eye & neck treatment (worth RM123), facial treatment voucher worth RM50 & one Airellis Miniature (worth up to RM46) and free skin analysis. (this does not require one to buy the product, maybe....)

5. L'oreal White Perfect Deep Whitening Eye Protector SPF15 15ml (this is for me! i have slight dark circles under my eyes)

6. Beaubelle Swiss Kit Normalizing Exfoliator 15g (i can use this too!)

7. Vaseline Intensive Care Total Moisture body lotion 120ml (good timing! i am looking for a body lotion to care for my over-air-conded skin)

8. Dove Anti-Dandruff shampoo 50ml (errr, i am using the best anti-dandruff shampoo now, Selsun Blue! so this is useless)

9. Fa Fresh roll-on 50ml (i don't have that underarm prob, so this is not for me)

10. Banana Boat Sunblock lotion SPF30 11.8ml (this is what i want to buy for my redang trip next year but it is just a sample, so i will still need to buy a real bottle of good old Banana Boat)

after that i was off for home as i have an appointment with the delivery man for my new wardrobe! on my way home, the police were still conducting road block and lines of cars crawling away on the other side of the highway.

happy belated deepavali

happy belated deepavali.

1408

Director: Mikael Hafstrom
Screenwriter: Matt Greenberg, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski
Starring: John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack, Tony Shalhoub

Plot Summary:

The only demons in room 1408 are those within you.

Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin (Cusack) only believes what he can see with his own two eyes. After a string of bestsellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he scoffs at the concept of an afterlife. Enslin's phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel for his latest project, "Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms." Defying the warnings of the hotel manager (Jackson), the author is the first person in years to stay in the reputedly haunted room. Another bestseller may be iminent, but like all Stephen King heroes, Enslin must go from skeptic to true believer and ultimately survive the night.

this movie gets 3 stars from me. jackson is excellent although he only made short appearance as the manager of the dolphin hotel which houses the evil room 1408. cusack is good. i got tired at 1/3 of the movie, when cusack was transported back into the room and he experienced it all over again. i was wondering when will the movie end. overall, i would say you can give this movie a miss. although this movie is 'different' but it is a typical stephen king movie, when you expect the unexpected.

new purchase

bought a mng sling bag last weekend in mid valley. was there to buy a dancing mat but saw the big sign '30% sale'. couldn't resist the urge to enter the shop and saw this cool bag for 99 bucks. you can sling it over your shoulder and do not have to cling to it all the time.

it has a snake like skin.

a coincidence, i was wearing mng shirt and short pants too when taking the pictures, so there you have it, a full mng photo shoot.

i love mng.
