as promised by the malaysian government, citizens with cars below 2000cc are eligible to get a cash rebate of rm625 due to petrol price increment recently. i of course want to get my rm625. who doesn't want money?? tell me and i'll shoot him/her. however, i thought i would get the cash immediately but to my dismay, it wasn't that easy (in my case that is).
1. as my road tax was due to expired on 30/7, i went a week ahead to renew it at kl main post office
yes, the post office is really 'besar'

when i reached there, it was empty except for the clerks at the counter as it was a saturday's afternoon.
to my dismay, i was told the jpj system was down!! *@!? it. i decided to wait to see if the system would be online and proceeded to take a number and wait for my turn..
and wait.. wait... but still the ****king system remained dead. while waiting i filled in a form in anticipation of the cash..
but of course, i never get the cash that day.
after an hour, i disppointedly decided to leave for 5pm sunset mass at a nearby church. i couldn't renew my road tax and most importantly, i didn't get my money!! hence, i have to recalculate the withdrawal i plan to make at the atm machine to pay my bills.
after the mass, i proceeded to pavilion kl
for a dinner at thai express and a movie at gsc
i had thai fried glass noodles with prawn and ice blended mango. both sucks; the noodles were tasteless and the drink was slimy and not 'icey' as the name would suggests. my companion had pineapple rice and guava juice which were quite good.
and dark knight is awesome!!! you should not miss it. the late heath ledger as the joker is excellent. too bad he isn't alive to see the rave reviews he got for this film. i never like a villain this much.
2. ok back to my subject of getting the cash rebate.
not wanting to get caught by the cops for the invalid road tax so i went to another post office somewhere near where i work to try my luck again - on the day of expiry. i went at 10am, got out at 12.15pm and only got my road tax renewed without the cash again!! there were three counters opened, two for road tax and another one for utility bills. when it was my turn, this time it was the post office system down so the clerk explained that she couldn't give my rm625. arrrghhhhh... i just want my rm625. she asked me to return again in the afternoon for the cash but judging by how long i waited to be served and the fact that i 'stole' 2++ hours of my working time made me decided otherwise. i asked her if i could make my claim at a different post office and she said yes. phewwwww.....
3. the next day (1/8/08) i stumbled upon an online news article stating that the cash rebate could be claimed online!! they will just bank in the money within the next 3 business days after your application. i surfed into
https://www.posonline.com.my/ecommerce excitedly, register myself and make the claim. it was as easy as 123.
you need to key in your car registration number
and your choice of bank and account number which i couldn't show you because i forgot to printscreen it. anyway, this is what i have when i view my transaction history.
and i am finally rm625 richer on tuesday (5/8/08).
