loreal luxury warehouse sale

went to the highly anticipated loreal luxury warehouse sale last saturday. it was held for a day only compared to two days in previous years. maybe it was because the common loreal products warehouse sale was held two days before that. when i reached parkroyal hotel where the event was going to be held at 9.30am, there was already a long queue. the queue reached the side of the busy sultan ismail/bukit bintang road. then some idiot hotel guy instructed us to made several rows. this caused a slight commotion when some people argued they were behind the people who were previously behind them. when i finally got inside the hall, it was already about 11am. i just grabbed whatever attracted me so that i could sort them out later. there were perfumes, skin care products, make up both for guys and gals. after some deliberation and consideration on needs and budget, i finally made a purchase on these.

1. biotherm hydra-detox cream rm60
2. biotherm age fitness cream rm100
3. lancome neurowhite purifying foam rm60
4. lancome cleasing fluid for face and eyes rm80

some scenes of the mad rush

overall, there were pros and cons of this event.

i would recommend this event if:
1. you were looking for a good buy on normally pricey items
2. you din't mind standing for a long time
3. you wanted to try some new products
4. you din't mind getting sardined

don't even think to attend this event if:
1. you wanted everything you purchased to be in good condition. (as advertised, buy the items at your own risk. so you won't be able to get a refund. some of the products were expired as in my friend's case, she got a perfume which was unusable)
2. you had to open the packaging to get a good look on the product (during the event, the staff kept shouting to leave the packaging alone or buy them. i understood if the packaging was sealed or if the person tried the product but i just opened a perfume box (you know, the present-kind-of-box where the cover could just be lifted up) to get a peep but was screamed at. i didn't even lay a finger on the perfume bottles. what if the box was empty? if i decided to buy the perfume and found out the box was actually empty when i got home, won't it be too much? the fact that you couldn't get a refund made it even worse. to the caucasion lady who screamed at me, f*** you)
3. you expected some good service (i tell you the people who serviced biotherm and one guy at lancome foundation makeup counter sucks big time but kudos to the perfume and lancome skincare ones).

the next american idol season 7

is david cook. gosh he's brilliant. did you watch his wicked performance of mariah carey's always be my baby? he turned a bubble gum song into soft rock. boy, that was really original. it brought tears to my eyes when i watched his performance. he was really good, an awesome singer. he is the american idol season 7.

unique bus

this is a public bus found only in kuala terengganu, malaysia. notice the 'roof' and the details on the top part. these decorations can normally be seen on traditional malay houses. the window is decorated with details too. the middle part was made of wood and the rest metal; i guess you still need solid body to endure the journey on the road.

i think passengers will feel at home when taking a ride on this bus. too bad i didn't have a chance to have this unique experience. was in a hurry to go somewhere else when i saw this bus.

choco croc

i got this crocodile shape choc bar from a friend who went down under recently.

it is cadbury's freddo. i guess this is only available in nz and aus markets. it is cute; white chocolate as its head and brown chocolate the rest.

i was a bit reluctant to grab a bite so i took picture of it for me to blog about. after that, it 'rests peacefully' in my stomach.

seal hunting

i came to know the existence of this devilish act in michael jackson's earth song video. the sight of a man beating a white seal who desperately tried to escape left a deep impression on me. i was horrified how anyone could do such a thing. last night i experienced a deja vu when i saw news on seal hunting.

according to wikipedia , the definition of seal hunting is as follows:
Seal hunting, or sealing, is the personal or commercial hunting of seals for their pelts, blubber, and meat; as well as to ensure the population does not reach levels that would threaten other species. The hunt is practiced in five countries: Canada, where most of the world's seal hunting takes place, as well as Greenland, Namibia, Norway, and Russia. Seal hunting is an important source of income and food in small coastal communities where other opportunities are limited.

seal hunting is extremely cruel point blank. i don't understand how certain people could beat the hell out of these harmless defenceless animals.

they are extremely cute animals. their round faces and bodies with whiskers made a refreshing sight in snow clad landscape. these fin-footed mammals are a widely distributed and diverse group of semi-aquatic marine mammals. they are carnivorous, eating fish, shellfish, squid, and other marine creatures or even penguins. some seals will even eat warm-blooded prey including other seals.

currently canada is the main culprit of seal hunting. please support the banning of this terrible trade. the seals deserve our solid support. please go here.

neutrogena's deep hydrating mask

this come together when i purchased neutrogena's facial scrub. when i opened the packet, the mask was wet. it's been a long time since i used a mask due to the usual reason, busy. although the mask was wet, it didn't drip off your face.
left it on my face for 15 minutes but it was as if you didn't put anything on your face. aftermath - skin feels hydrated and cool. i say it is a good buy if you are on a budget. at least your face won't look like this.

nine million bicycles

have you wondered if you are making the right choice?

have you ever want to just pick up your bag and leave?

have you ever want to start life afresh?

have you ever think why you are doing all these?

yes, i have.

and i am wondering when i'm going to meet my other half.

chances are coming in a couple of months but i am feeling sceptical.

this is not good as it might leave me in solitude for the rest of my life.

but i don't know what is his opinion.

i'm not sure with myself too as i am quite a look oriented person.

what if he's still short. what if he still is thin. what if he doesn't care. what if he's ignorant. and most importantly i guess, what if he doesn't harbour any feeling towards yours faithfully.

this is embarassing. i'm looking forward to his coming and yet i am still in a ball.

i guess i will just be myself, injected with some traits that i think are likeable.

hopefully we can be as close as before and maybe along the way, realize we are made for each other. hopefully...

redang trip

this is my long postponed review of my recent trip to redang island. i got many things going on and hence for the delay.

took a 3 days 2 nights package costs rm320 at redang reef resort. arranged the agent to pick up from bus station in kuala terengganu at rm5/way. on the day of departure, took a bus from pudu bus station which costs rm35/way. bus left at 10pm and reached kuala terengganu at 5.30am. our tour agent picked us up at 6.30am but you would not be alone at the bus station for there were many others, locals and travellers alike. the driver, mr.chua picked several others too and we headed to the agent's office. we were told to wash and freshen up ourselves and had our breakfast at a nearby eatery. the office was situated in kuala terengganu's chinatown. at 9am, the driver took up to the jetty to board the ferry. actually the ferry was not far from the bus station. if you asked around, you would not have trouble finding the jetty.

the sea condition was quite rough and i was seasick. but it all disappeared as soon as i saw the clear, blue water of redang. god, it was so beautiful! the water is just so clear! with its white sand and breezy wind, redang is really a paradise!
the ferry ride took about 2 hours. we were not directly brought to the main island by the ferry. it stopped middle of the ocean and our resort's boat picked us up. then it took another 10 minutes before we finally reached redang.

walked about 5 minutes from the redang jetty to redang reef resort. we have to walk passed through laguna resort and then a small bridge among the rocks to reach our resort.
upon our arrival, we were briefed by steven, the resort's supervisor on our schedule and dos and don'ts.
the room was satisfactory. it didn't have a tv, which you won't need as you were there to enjoy the scenery and not tv programmes, right? it was clean except for the sands found on the bed. did they wash the bed sheets?

went for a snorkelling trip in the afternoon. you have to rent the life jacket and mask at rm10/piece. this was the first time i ever snorkelled in my entire life and it was quite an experience i must say. what more for a non-swimmer like me. you could see the reefs and fishes swimming around!
i felt like watching a national geographic programme except this time, i was watching it live!

the next day went for another snorkelling trip at the marine park. the entry fee is rm5. the reefs were even more beautiful here and there were more fishes too. some of us fed breads to the fished and it was a sight to behold when the fishes jumping around trying to eat the pieces of bread.
at night you could experience beach discos. there were many along the long strip of beach of pasir panjang. hopped from a disco to another.

gosh, i wish i could live in redang. really love the beach and sound of the waves. maybe if i were rich, i could build my own house here and live with the fishes happily ever after. :D
