after months of anticipation, finally the long awaited smart tunnel is opened to the public. the tunnel has free access for one month after which toll will be imposed. the toll according to our works minister "will be quite high" due to its dual function as roads and water tunnel if there is flash floods in kl. there are two lanes in the tunnel. along the way, i saw small exits and emergency phones. there were cctvs too. i exit at sultan ismail and came out somewhere near sg wang (parkroyal hotel side). i must say it is a smooth drive. you don't need to take many turnings to reach your destination or go through the traffic lights. but of course if there are many cars using the same route, the journey will be quite slow as there are only two lanes. i will continue using the tunnel as long as it is free. i don't think i am willing to pay to use the tunnel as long as there is no emergency or i am not in a hurry.
